DESCRIPCIÓN
Join Lesley Ewen (Rada, Guildhall – London; Concordia University - Montreal) for a 2 day intensive acting workshop (8hrs over two sessions) where you’ll learn and practice some of the basic components of MAPs; Mindfulness Acting Practices. Lesley will guide you through foundational mindfulness practices that will enable you to ground yourself in Stanislavsky’s ‘here today now’; being deeply grounded in yourself and with your partner. Using improvisation, you’ll explore meeting your partner with nothing but your moment-to-moment presence and arising organic impulses. Then we’ll apply your new skills to performing a monologue you’ve previously learned. Explore how being ‘deeply seated in yourself’ can generate an ease, a confidence, spontaneity, imagination, and most importantly Presence – that charismatic quality that only comes when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable and revealed; to deeply see + be seen. Begin to touch into the raw aliveness that James Dean, Penelope Cruze and Timothy Chalamet all bring to their work. A taste of what you’re capable of once you let go of stale plans and experience your character’s Beingness, arising live in each moment.
